Meet July’s MMS Focus: Blessings
As we walk through prayers of blessing in scripture, we find a beautiful truth: the faithful throughout time have been recipients and givers of blessings. Like Abraham in Genesis 12, the Lord blesses in order that WE may bless. In the New Testament we are called to an even higher calling: bless (speak well of, or pray for the best for) those who are our ENEMIES. Following examples in scripture, we are reminded that as we pray for God's blessings, we remember His provision and His character, aligning our hearts with His will. When we remember His care, it's easy for us to speak goodness about others and seek their welfare. May we pray for blessings on others this month, and recall and praise the blessings God has already bestowed.
